Thursday's Good Read – Humbled

I’m quite partial to a historical novel. Medieval and Renaissance are two of my favourite periods, as is Victorian seen through eyes of writers such as Wilkie Collins and Charles Dickens. I especially like Dicken’s Tale of Two Cities. Set during the French Revolution, not Dicken’s usual time period,  it is a story of self-sacrifice at a time of social upheaval. Which brings me to Renee Rose’s spanking romance Humbled. … Read more…

Saturday Spankings – a game of pool

Saturday Spankings has had its limits lifted from 8 sentences to 2000 words. I decided I would take the opportunity to have an excerpt from the third book in the Trust Me series – Trust Me to Keep You. Gemma and her Dominant husband Jason have visitors: John, Gemma’s brother, and his girlfriend, Andrea. The couple have just discovered that Gemma and Jason are in an unusual relationship. Unsure of … Read more…

What makes a good read?

I’m not a great one for writing reviews, not just books, anything. It is the star system I particularly loath. I can understand its purpose, just not how it can be fairly applied. Without guidelines, it becomes a subjective box tick, almost a polarised like or dislike with a vague differentiation in the middle. Ask me any day of the week for my top ten list of books, films or … Read more…

The birch – then and now

Birching used to be a very traditional judicial punishment in the UK, and across Europe. It was primarily used on young male offenders and involved the police or prison services. The last bastion of the birch, after everywhere else had banned it, was the Isle of Man (Island in the Irish Sea). I remember as a child the news reports as the camps for and against the use of the … Read more…

Saturday Spankings – Out in the woods

This week I’ve picked a passage from Trust Me to Own You. The idea of being spanked outside, in the open air and the risk of being spied upon, can add an extra thrill or maybe it might humiliate further. Submissive wife Gemma has had a tough week finding out about her limits while on vacation with her husband in New York.  Taking a break from the city, they head … Read more…

Short on word count, long on fun

Between writing novels, I dip into writing short stories.  Some bonus stories for the Trust Me books, others are one off moments of fancy. You might notice I have a thing for interfering with fairy tales, giving them a little twist and nudge to accommodate a bit of spanking. I’ve added another to my Fairy Tales Retold collection and added a few others under short stories. Princess and the Bed … Read more…

Satspanks – A Beastly Spanking.

Hello and welcome to another Saturday Spankings! Following on from last weeks fairy tale theme, I’ve split my 8 sentences across two stories. The first is a little snippet from a new short story under my Fairy Tales Retold section of the sidebar : A Beastly Spanking. Belle has run off to be with her father having promised to stay with the beast.  She returns and the beast decides to … Read more…

Satspanks – Taming Rapunzel

I have written a few fairy tales. I blame Disney. They create these films which kind of lend themselves to the fantasy world of spanking. Since Princesses have gained more attitude and independence, it just means the Prince has to work harder. This snippet is from Rapunzel’s Hairbrush.  Prince Charming has just climbed up the enormous tower and things are not going as he expected when faced with a rather … Read more…

Fairy Tales Retold

I’ve had tucked away a couple of spanking stories and I’ve added them to my collection on the sidebar under a new menu – Fairy Tales Retold. I hope you enjoy my new versions of some classic fairy tales. Rapunzel’s Hairbrush – A light-hearted twist on Tangled. The Glass Slipper and the Cane – or maybe it should be called Cinder’s Revenge 🙂 Now if there are any other fairy … Read more…

Spanking relief – Satspanks

This week’s Satspanks offering comes from the first book in my Trust Me series – Trust Me to Know You.  A story about a submissive woman recovering from a traumatic past.  She has discovered her lover is not quite what he appeared when she first met him and now their relationship is moving into new territory. There are different kinds of spankings and this snippet is about spanking for stress … Read more…

Making a conversation

When it comes to writing a little fiction, I’m inclined to be spontaneous. A burst of words spews out and takes shape on the page. Later, I massage them into something worthy and usable. Some fit together and merge into longer texts, a short story, a chapter…. some stay little, have a life of their own and linger detached….. here is one. **** “The housekeeper is not happy with the … Read more…

And the prize goes to…..

First of all I want to thank all those who came by this blog.  Whether you lurked or commented, I hope you enjoyed the Winter Spanks Hop and perhaps found some new blogs / authors too. Special thanks to those behind the scenes at Spanking Romance Reviews and Saturday Spanks – Renee, Corinne and Kathryn. A lot of effort and time, especially when linkylinks failed. As for my own little … Read more…

Listening – Saturday Spanking

There was a comment on my last Saturday Spanking post that eight sentences was too short.  This week’s post picks up from where that one left off – Casey and her attempts at serving her boss a cup of tea – and no sentence limit this week, isn’t that good thing. ***** Casey paused, a minute hesitation. She saw him push the chair back, the upright position he had sat … Read more…

Hand warmer – Winter Spanks Blog Hop

It’s cold outside… well, actually it is quite mild in these parts, but I’m imagining the icicles hanging off the guttering and the frosty pine cones. My hands are freezing…. well, actually, they’re nice and warm because I’m busy typing.  Cold hands for a writer means I need to type faster.  To be honest, I’m quite comfortable, all over. So imagine those frozen hands.  You’ve forgotten your gloves, the pockets … Read more…

Pleasing him – Saturday Spankings

Taught to Serve begins as a collection of lessons. Being pleasing to another – to provide a service – is one of Casey’s early lessons.  For somebody who perhaps has been a little self-centred in life, adapting to another’s perspective can be difficult. Casey is asked to perform a simple task for her employer –  to serve tea. A most particular phrase and one she struggles to understand.  Rob is … Read more…

Giveaways and a new story

It is the season for giving. So for a limited period – 25th/26th Dec – I’m giving away the Trust Me trilogy on AllRomance (formats include Kindle, epub and PDF) . For those who enjoyed Jason and Gemma’s personal journey into BDSM in the Trust Me book, here is a bonus story: Jason and Gemma are in a D/s relationship.
