Taught to Serve begins as a collection of lessons. Being pleasing to another – to provide a service – is one of Casey’s early lessons. For somebody who perhaps has been a little self-centred in life, adapting to another’s perspective can be difficult.
Casey is asked to perform a simple task for her employer – to serve tea. A most particular phrase and one she struggles to understand. Rob is keen to help her learn the difference simply being doing something with little thought and providing a service. He has to foster the environment to help her learn the different, provide the scenario.
Casey, unfortunately, doesn’t listen and it takes some intervention on Rob’s part to help focus her thoughts.

“Casey, I asked you to serve me tea,” he repeated his earlier request.
“I don’t understand, sir,” she said puzzled and increasingly irritated by him. “That is tea.” She pointed with her finger and her lips pressed together. The other hand dared to plant itself on her hip; she shifted her weight and glared at his eyes. Suddenly, her stance mirrored her annoyance.
He slid his chair back, away from the desk, and leaned back in his chair. “Come here, Casey.”

I’m off a’wandering on Sunday, to a different blog to meet up with Joelle Casteel. Hope you will come and find me there.
This is a Blog Hop!

Oh my what a loaded three words, “Come here, Casey.” 😀
No backing off from that request 🙂
Wonderfully understated, Jaye!
Thank you!
You can feel the tension, great job.
Something has to happen to unwind that tension 🙂
I want to read more!
good 🙂 will post a follow up for next Saturday
I love when the hero says, “Come here.” Nice!
Nothing like a good summons.
Did she just plunk a cup of hot water and tea bag on his desk? Not sure what she did wrong, but I suspect I know exactly what he’s going to do to correct her error. Great snippet, Jaye.
Worse – not even a cup and saucer – a mug! It must be an English thing, tea being presented correctly 🙂
I wonder what will happen next… 😀 Very cute Jaye!
Who knows…. well I do and think everyone can guess 🙂
Oh, I really hate that 8 sentence rule… I need more and my Kindle is crying it’s so overweight.
I might follow up with another 8 next week, though I think it would just tease you further 🙂
uh oh, that isn’t going to go well for her.
No, but it does get her thinking straight 🙂
lovely scene 🙂 I wonder how much of a spanking she got with him trying to get her to understand
She’s gets the message pretty quickly 🙂
Uh oh – Casey’s in for a spanking. Yum 🙂
Chairs being moved is always a good indication of what is to follow.
Ah service…guess slapping a tea bag in a cup of hot water does not suffice.
Unfortunately it’s not quite what he is after.
