It’s Saturday and that means its spanking time. Today, it’s the dread cane. This post picks up where last week’s ended. So poor Viola, bent over and about to receive a dozen.
Her yellow hair toppled over her face, preventing her from examining the long cane in his hand. She swept aside the loose strands with a brisk gesture. He swished the cane about, practising his aim and tapping it repeatedly against her flesh as if to measure a distance.
His previous lecturing continued and she deemed it a necessary accompaniment to the build up—it helped remind her why she was bent in such a vulnerable position. “You are the lady of this house. The servants look up to you. You must demonstrate exemplary behaviour. Lying about your mistakes has weakened your position and mine, too.”
After a chance meeting, young Viola Pritchard finds herself married to the enigmatic Sir Anton Valise. The innocent Viola falls fast for her new husband. She loves him and only wishes to please him and be the wife he wishes her to be. She’s surprised to find that she craves Anton’s passionate and dominant lovemaking, and even lusts for him to take her in more erotic ways.
Determined not to repeat mistakes from his past, Anton tries to keep Viola at a distance. Her sweet submission and unflagging loyalty prove to be his weakness. The baronet introduces rules to ensure his new wife will remain obedient, not trusting that her intentions could be so pure.
When Viola discovers a series of secret rooms and a diary left behind by Anton’s late wife, she unearths a chilling mystery. With tension between the couple rising, Anton and Viola’s relationship reaches a crisis point. Can Viola crack the armor around her baronet’s safely guarded heart?

Ooh ouch, poor Viola. I like how Anton tells her that her actions have affected him also. Great excerpt Jaye 🙂
Hugs

Thanks, Roz 🙂
I love the cover of Viola’s Heart Strings. She does look innocent and virginal. I regret her husband found it necessary to punish her, but lying about your mistakes will get you in trouble every time.
It’s a great cover. Very innocent… but it doesn’t last!
Ouch! Poor Viola! I like how she realizes though that her mistakes also look bad on Anton. Hopefully it makes her think the next time before she decides to do something naughty.
Less naughty, more irresponsible, but I’m sure she won’t do it again!
Hi Jaye, poor Viola. The swishing sound alone is enough to make me nervous in such a situation. She seems to realize why she is punished though. Lovely snippet, thank you for sharing.
hugs
Nina
The swish is the scary part of the cane.. and the thwack!
Hi Jaye, as always, lovely snippet<3 I'm curious to know what secrets she found in those hidden rooms and what she read in the diary!
It’s all in the diary she finds 🙂
