Acceptance – #wipitup

WIPimage12Another week, another spell of editing and it’s rather slow progress.  Gradually creeping through To Own You and the life of submissive Gemma and her Dominant husband, Jason. Gemma is having to adapt to many things: marriage, submission and wealth, something she wishes her parents would understand.

Recounting her fruitless conversation to Jason in the restaurant, she remonstrated her frustration at her absent parent.
Jason frowned. “You should admire their work ethic. Money is often about pride. Give people hand-outs and for some it makes their own contributions feel worthless. Let it drop.”
Her sulking irked Jason. He would know exactly what would snap her out of her mood and unfortunately, he wasn’t in a position to administer a thorough spanking, even when they got home, since it wasn’t the right time for her to submit. In its place, they stared at each other and the words were left unspoken. She constantly ached to be taken in hand by him, to have her disappointment flushed out of her system and her mind re-focused.
Before their engagement, it would have been a simple matter of telling her to do it. Strip, bend over his lap and let him relieve her of the stress and responsibility of thinking about things too much. His control would have extinguished her fidgets and agitation. By the end of a good hard spanking, she would be biddable, delightfully floaty and willing for him to use her for his own indulgence.
However, they’d agreed—he wouldn’t touch her outside of his dungeon and certainly not beyond the scope of their predesignated sessions. She had to stew in her emotional juices.
“Acceptance, Gemma, you do understand acceptance?” Jason asked after the waiter had collected their plates.
“Of course I do,” she snapped.
The word was important to a submissive. Accepting his will over hers when they were in play was how she dealt with him doing things that gave him pleasure but not necessarily anything of immediate benefit to her. His frown deepened and she dropped her eyes. His piercing gaze won out with its reprimanding expression.
She quickly backtracked. “Sorry, didn’t mean to be rude.”
“Then practise the word. Stop brooding,” he rose. “When we get home, I have calls to make.”
“Can I sit with you?” she asked meekly. She felt like a mouse scurrying around, unsure of what direction to take.
“Sure,” he said kindly.
Back at Piedmont, she opted to crash out on the floor by his chair on a pile of cushions. The arrangement was immensely pleasing to them both, especially as it had been spontaneous. She read at his feet while he made his long-distance calls. She even let him rest his feet on her bottom as he leant back in his chair chatting to some American executive. The conversation washed over her as she relaxed on the floor. He might not have spanked her on that occasion, but the weight of his feet on her limp body was tremendously gratifying and served as a suitable alternative.
