When he sees Ella, he knows he has found the mate he has been seeking for so long in his journeys across the world. He is a wolf shifter and has lived for a long time without finding the mate that will complete him. His secrets protect him but also isolate him. He senses that Ella has the submissive nature and strong sexual desires that will provide him with what he seeks in a mate.
Historical paranormal stories are not frequently offered. It is an interesting combination that is even more unique when you add BDSM to the mix. Gethin has a strong sexual appetite and he expects his mate to be available any time he wishes and comply with all his demands. He is a true dominant and wants her to show her submission. When she is not quick to comply or dares question him, he punishes her with spankings. He is not violent and abusive but he is very controlling. Ella does respond to the erotic aspect of his demands and discovers that she is very open to his desires.
Historical romances are a favorite genre of mine and I have enjoyed them for thirty years. Paranormal and fantasy are more recent favorites of mine. I have only had the opportunity to read a few stories that combine the genres. This novel is more of an erotic romance due to the strong focus on BDSM and the sexual needs of the main character. Gethin is very focused on having his physical needs met in order to select a mate.The sexual acts and punishments are not violent in nature. The relationship between the two takes longer to develop due to his secretive nature but is strengthened by their time together. Ella discovers her own sexuality and voluntarily and wholeheartedly engages in the activities with her husband for their mutual pleasure. It is a well written story that combines the best elements of the genres.

Oh my goodness! This book was so erotic and hot I had to sit under a fan to read it. This marvelous tale had a well written storyline with many unexpected twists and turns as well as surprising secrets. The sex was explicit and written tastefully. There were elements of BDSM, anal play, spanking and paranormal situations. Some characters from an earlier book returned and all the characters feelings and emotions were delved into. There was some witty dialogue and I throughly enjoyed this delightful book.
