So what’s in the treasure box? The clue is in the excerpt below, taken from my story – The Accused Wife.

He rested his hands on her shoulder and squeezed them. A warm bloom of breath formed a necklace around her throat. He was breathing heavily, but calmly and slow.

“I’m no longer disappointed by your foolishness. I wish only to make it absolutely clear that you should not risk your safety again. You will strip. Then I shall take you across my knee and spank you. When your bottom is pink and warmed, you will bend over the bench and receive a sound whipping.”

He pointed to the corner of the room and the bucket. Standing abreast were numerous thin sticks and twigs, all trimmed and straight.

A birch!

She crushed her thighs together and clenched her fists into tight balls. “I do not think I could bear such a thing,” she murmured.

“I do,” he whispered in her ear. “I think you are courageous and reckless. But I am not. No harm will come from the swift application of these softened twigs.”

She believed him. Her mind calmed, almost immediately.

“Take off your clothes,” he said, moving back.

She stripped as gracefully as she could in the circumstances. She hung the clothes on a hook on the back of the door, one item at a time until she reached her shift and drawers. The last time she’d undressed before him, she hid herself. This time, she boldly showed him her flushed bosom and bare mound.

Alexander whistled in appreciation. “Beautiful,” he murmured.

Did you spot it?  Just to make absolute sure, my implement from the treasure box is a birch.  Ssh, don’t tell anyone.
