Are they Celts? – #wipitup

I’ve been absent from WipItUp for a while, but that’s not because I’ve not been busy!  I’m close to submitting my latest spanking romance, a historical novel set in Ancient Briton when the Romans built Hadrian’s Wall. A rather bleak place, but hopefully I’ve got plenty to warm you up! Here’s hint of what’s to come. *** A young man, she thought. It was hard to tell given his unusual … Read more…

A brisk caning #wipitup

My Victorian Romance is taking shape. I shared a little for last week’s Wipsters, so here is a little more of my current work in progress – a time travelling escapade for a curator in a museum.  Kelly has travelled back in time through a mirror to Victorian England. Seated in the library of an old house, she has discovered a journal hidden in a drawer. She just can’t stop … Read more…

A picture tells a story #4 – Wedding woes? #writingprompt

It’s a holiday here in the UK, as it is in the States.  A holiday is a special occasion and so is a wedding. When I spotted this picture I wondered – what is going on?  Can I make a story out of this. Still working on a few ideas. The challenge is fashioning it into just 500 words.     The lightly applied rules: No more than 500 words, … Read more…

Eroticon Live 2016

(Not a Conference Report – more of a hit list of things I did) Last weekend, I visited Eroticon – a workshop / conference for sex bloggers and erotica writers. Here’s a run through of my weekend. 1. Made nipple latex pasties 2. Made my own mini flogger 3. Sketched a live model – yeah, never done this before. Didn’t think I had it in me to draw quickly. Fifteen minutes … Read more…

A picture tells a story #3 – vintage postcard #flashfiction #writing prompt

For today’s writing prompt I’ve gone back in time and picked something different. Of course I don’t have to write a vintage tale or set it in the kitchen. The picture might represent the end of the story, not the beginning. Is it her pose or the folding of the arms that intrigues me? It could turn out to be  a threesome, or something else. Who knows. I’m still thinking … Read more…

A picture tells a story #1 #flashfiction #writingprompt

I enjoy writing short stories, really short ones. It keeps the creative mind alert and I like the challenge of a writing prompt. However, trying to find an erotic flash fiction challenge, or one that wouldn’t ban me for writing spanking or erotic content, is hard. So I’m starting my own. Whether it’s a quote or a picture, I’ll find a writing prompt. I’ll post it at the beginning of … Read more…

What’s happening?

I’m approaching a new book release at the end of the week – Chosen by the Governor – and as  soon as I have the cover and blurb, I’ll share. His Lordship’s Mate is The Romance Reviews Top Pick and the review can be found here: Bound by her Promise, a Sci-Fi spanking romance set on a mining colony orbiting Jupiter, is available on Kindle Unlimited. I’m working towards producing … Read more…

Stymied by the blocks #amwriting

For an erotic author, writer’s blocks can be a double whammy. Settling down at the keyboard (or notepad, I’m old-fashioned), characters shout out to be heard. A plot weaves its way across the pages. There’s a journey and a destination. Writing is productive and the word count great. Until, I hit the road block with that scene which has to be written. The sex, the spankings, whatever. I stare blankly … Read more…

Top Spot

For a brief spell yesterday my latest book, His Lordship’s Mate, hit the #1 spot on Amazon’s Paranormal Erotica. It came as a lovely surprise when I checked into Amazon. Thank you to my readers.  Whether you’re a fan of Regency romances or shapeshifters, when I wrote this book I hoped to meet both audiences and merge them together. This feather painting sums up the book quite nicely. I won’t … Read more…

#WipitUp – To the rescue!

It’s my first WipItUp since moving my blog onto its own domain, instead of WordPress.com.  Those who are visiting for the first time, welcome, and I hope you come back again.  You can follow this blog by clicking on the subscribe by email option. My current work in progress is a Regency Spanking Romance, and there is a twist to the genre.   I don’t want to reveal too much as … Read more…

Erotica writing #SpankAtoZ

Today’s Spanking Challenge letter is E. Erotica or erotic romance? What exactly is the difference? I don’t think many really know since it isn’t applied uniformly by any publishing platform. The best difference I can devise is that if I took all the sex scenes out of an erotica book, what would be left would be so disjointed and insubstantial that nothing makes sense to the reader. On the other … Read more…

A kinky writer’s tool box

I guess all sorts come by this blog; some to read and explore, others a quick dip and I assume a few find themselves here by mistake. I don’t know. I only see stats. However, I expect there are few out there who are interested in writing, perhaps writing erotica, maybe kinky things. Here are a few helpful books if you are interested in finding out more about what’s involved. I wish … Read more…

#TickleMePink – A war, a simple life and a few spankings

When it comes to writing romances, English history provides plenty of opportunities, in particular love affairs during wars. The English generally, where possible tried to fight their battles abroad as it gave less chance of mucking up our beautiful countryside and ruining our castles. The Normans were the last to conquer the British Isles, other’s tried and failed. You might be led to think nothing happened for centuries after 1066. As … Read more…

#TickleMePink – Pin boards and Cinquains

For today’s Tickle Me Pink – I’ve gone all poetic. I’ve picked out some of my favourite pictures which relate to my latest release – Touched – and created a pinboard in Pinterest. Following a fun Saturday at a Smut UK event – where I met other writers, got attached to another author (via wrist and ankle cuffs), listened to some fab readings and poetry – I’m trying out a few cinquains. … Read more…

Admiring the view, from back here.

I’m between things. This pause, probably a brief one, is an opportunity to take stock and consider my options. Not that there is nothing happening. I’m stepping back and seeking the bigger picture. (I will return to Saturday Spankings, but not for a couple of weeks.) Books have been submitted, new release due in less than two weeks, and one book being edited. Ideas pop up in my head. Most … Read more…

Things you may not know…. #amwriting

Some things you may not know…. randomly arranged. I write in A5 format because it makes for shorter lines and easy on the eyes. I turn off white spaces between pages, I like to scroll and see what I write undefined by pages. I hate white screen backgrounds. They dazzle. I have the outline open in a separate window, arranged into scenes. I read a scene once then start writing. When … Read more…

Busy, busy

I missed out on Saturday Spankings, no Monday Morsel today either as I’m catching up on outstanding stuff and also have commitments due to my ‘other life’. I will be doing a Dungeon Crawl on Wednesday. As an update, here is the latest on where I am at writing wise: Contract signed on a new submission with Totally Bound – all very exciting as it is my first time working … Read more…

Monday Morsel – Devoured

A swift morsel this week. One from a book which is edging closer to publishing. The art cover is kicking off as I make the last edits. Gemma and Jason are aboard their luxury yacht, cruising the seas on holiday. However, Jason has been informed of a crisis back at home and plans are about to change. Preparing for a departure, Gemma is in need of some extra special attention. … Read more…

Monday Morsel – Preparations for a Cruise

I’m really hoping Spring is around the corner.  With the new season comes renewal and I’m hoping to rekindle the story of Jason and Gemma in a new trilogy. The first book tells of a cruise across the breadth of the Mediterranean Sea on a luxury yacht. Jason and his wife will have three weeks to explore the boundaries of their D/s relationship and perhaps take them further than ever … Read more…

Short on word count, long on fun

Between writing novels, I dip into writing short stories.  Some bonus stories for the Trust Me books, others are one off moments of fancy. You might notice I have a thing for interfering with fairy tales, giving them a little twist and nudge to accommodate a bit of spanking. I’ve added another to my Fairy Tales Retold collection and added a few others under short stories. Princess and the Bed … Read more…
